Scarpetta is an independent, family run Italian restaurant on George street. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the culinary staff by ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food preparation and have an interest in the hospitality industry, whether in a hotel or restaurant setting.

Responsibilities
- Be presentable and on time for work.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Assist chefs and cooks with food preparation tasks as required, ensuring all ingredients are ready for use.
- Ensure that all kitchen waste is disposed of properly and that recycling protocols are followed.
- Help with stock rotation and inventory management to minimise waste and ensure freshness of ingredients.
- Support the team during busy service periods by assisting with various tasks as needed.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining high standards of hygiene at all times.
Skills
- Previous experience in a culinary or kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen staff.
- A basic understanding of food preparation techniques is advantageous.
- A passion for hospitality and a desire to contribute positively to a team-oriented environment.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
