About the Role:
Gavik Technology and Engineering Solutions is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team in Blackwood. You will support the assembly, testing, maintenance and improvement of mechanical equipment used across technical and engineering projects.
This role is suitable for someone who enjoys practical engineering work, understands mechanical systems and can follow technical drawings accurately. You will work with engineers, workshop technicians and project coordinators to help ensure equipment is assembled safely, tested correctly and delivered according to project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Assembly:
Assemble mechanical components and equipment by following approved drawings, specifications and work instructions.
Equipment Testing:
Carry out basic operational tests and inspections to confirm that equipment performs safely and correctly.
Maintenance Support:
Assist with planned maintenance, routine servicing and the replacement of worn or damaged components.
Fault Investigation:
Help identify mechanical faults, record findings and support practical repairs under appropriate technical guidance.
Technical Drawings:
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, diagrams, measurements and assembly instructions.
Measurement and Inspection:
Use appropriate measuring tools to check component dimensions, alignment and installation accuracy.
Workshop Support:
Maintain an organised work area and ensure tools, materials and equipment are available for scheduled tasks.
Project Assistance:
Support engineers and project coordinators with prototype builds, equipment modifications and installation preparation.
Documentation:
Complete inspection records, maintenance reports, test sheets and equipment documentation accurately.
Parts Management:
Monitor commonly used components and report shortages, damage or replacement requirements.
Quality Control:
Check completed work against technical specifications and report any defects or inconsistencies.
Safety Compliance:
Follow workplace safety procedures, equipment instructions and company requirements for handling tools and machinery.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
Previous experience in mechanical engineering, equipment maintenance, manufacturing, assembly or a related technical environment is preferred.
Qualifications:
A technical qualification in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, maintenance or a related discipline is desirable.
Mechanical Knowledge:
Good understanding of mechanical components, basic maintenance methods, workshop tools and assembly processes.
Drawing Interpretation:
Ability to read technical drawings, measurements and mechanical specifications accurately.
Practical Skills:
Confidence using hand tools, measuring equipment and workshop machinery appropriate to the role.
Problem Solving:
Ability to investigate mechanical issues logically and contribute to practical solutions.
Digital Skills:
Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, maintenance systems and basic technical software.
Organisation:
Ability to follow work schedules, maintain accurate records and complete assigned tasks within agreed deadlines.
Communication:
Clear spoken and written English with the ability to report technical issues accurately.

Pay: £2,350.00-£2,800.00 per month
