Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, supporting the smooth operation of food service activities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and food service, with experience in cleaning, food handling, and supporting kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
- Support food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations in compliance with health standards
- Handle food items safely during preparation and service, adhering to proper food handling procedures
- Support cooking activities as needed, including basic food prep tasks under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area throughout shifts to promote a safe and hygienic environment
- Ensure proper disposal of waste and recycling materials according to established protocols
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, catering, or hospitality environments is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation procedures
- Experience with cleaning duties within a culinary or hotel setting is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards supporting kitchen staff and guests
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or evenings if required
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform manual tasks related to cleaning and food prep
