Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity in Bromley?
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in BR1 2PR, supporting children with complex additional needs.
The Role
You will work closely with pupils who require additional support with their learning, communication, behaviour and emotional development. You will play an important role in helping pupils access the curriculum, develop their independence and achieve their individual goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex needs.
- Support pupils with their learning and development across the curriculum.
- Assist with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
- Implement individual support strategies and contribute to pupils' EHCP targets.
- Support positive behaviour and help create a calm, inclusive learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Promote independence and confidence wherever possible.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with children with complex SEN needs.
- Experience supporting pupils with autism, communication difficulties, behavioural needs or other additional needs is highly desirable.
- Patient, empathetic and resilient.
- Confident managing challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Able to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
- Passionate about helping children reach their full potential.
- A relevant SEN, Teaching Assistant or childcare qualification would be advantageous.
