Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant / Fryer to join our busy culinary team. This role involves supporting food preparation and cooking activities in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Duties
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and organising ingredients
- Operate fryers and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Cook food items according to specified recipes and standards
- Ensure all meals are prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing utensils, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately
- Support the team during peak hours by preparing ingredients and assisting with meal assembly
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment
- Assist with stock rotation and inventory checks as required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy setting
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if necessary
