We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Head of Centre (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities - SEND) to lead and inspire our specialized educational environment. Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic development and operational management of the SEND centre, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and best practices.
- Oversee curriculum planning and delivery, ensuring tailored educational programs meet individual student needs while promoting engagement and progress.
- Manage and support a team of educators, therapists, and support staff, fostering professional growth, collaboration, and high morale.
- Build strong relationships with families, caregivers, external agencies, and local authorities to ensure holistic support for students’ well-being and development.
- Monitor student progress through assessments and regular reviews; adapt teaching strategies to maximize positive outcomes.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive environment that promotes respect, independence, and confidence among all learners.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievements, staff performance, health & safety compliance, and other administrative duties essential for centre operation.
Skills
- Proven experience in teaching children with SEND, demonstrating adaptability to diverse learning needs.
- Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate teams and manage complex operational tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to engage confidently with students, families, staff, and external partners.
- In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation, safeguarding procedures, and best practices in inclusive education.
- Ability to develop innovative teaching methods that foster independence and confidence among learners.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s development through compassionate teaching approaches.
