Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Carpenter 1st Fix Roofing to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing the structural framework and roofing components during the initial phase of building projects. Your expertise will help ensure that roofs are properly fabricated, assembled, and secured, setting the foundation for safe and durable structures. Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, fabricate, and assemble roofing materials using hand tools and power tools to meet project specifications.
- Install roof trusses, rafters, battens, and other structural elements during the first fix phase of construction.
- Ensure all roofing components are properly aligned, secured, and compliant with safety standards.
- Assist with heavy lifting of roofing materials and structural components to facilitate efficient installation.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks such as masonry, plumbing, electrical, and construction painting as needed during the roofing phase.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Support additional carpentry or joinery tasks related to roofing or framing as required.
Experience
- Proven experience in carpentry, roofing installation, or related construction roles with a focus on first fix work.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication, assembly processes, and the use of hand tools and power tools in a construction environment.
- Familiarity with roofing techniques including truss installation, sheathing, flashing, and weatherproofing.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday.
- Basic understanding of masonry, plumbing, electrical systems, or construction painting is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Prior experience working on construction sites with adherence to safety regulations is essential.
