Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires excellent driving skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to handle physical tasks such as heavy lifting. Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver goods to designated locations within the scheduled timeframes
- Load and unload items, ensuring they are secured properly during transit
- Navigate efficiently using GPS and maps, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times or any unforeseen delays
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Assist with warehouse duties, including stock organisation and inventory checks when required
- Handle heavy lifting of packages or goods as needed, maintaining safety standards at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of commercial driving procedures
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving and warehouse operations is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
- Knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations within the area of operation
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of safety and service
