Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a strong understanding of early childhood education principles. Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education standards
- Supervise children during play, mealtime, nap times, and outdoor activities to ensure their safety and well-being
- Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating environment for children at all times
- Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and teamwork
- Observe and record children's progress, behaviour, and developmental milestones to inform future planning
- Assist with daily administrative tasks such as attendance records and activity planning
- Support the implementation of nursery policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Contribute to the organisation of nursery events and activities that encourage community involvement
Skills
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early years setting
- Strong management and leadership skills to guide both children and team members effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage confidently with children, parents, and colleagues
- Knowledge of childcare regulations, health & safety standards, and early childhood development frameworks
- Ability to organise tasks efficiently whilst maintaining flexibility in a dynamic environment
- Childcare qualifications or early childhood education training are highly desirable
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting children or attending external activities
