Envision Media is a wide-format print company that works closely with some of the biggest brands and agencies in the UK to create banners, signage and displays. We are looking for someone to join our fabrication team and help us achieve our goal of producing outstanding graphics on a daily basis.
We are seeking an experienced sewing machinist to join our Skelmersdale team and help create our banners and signs finishing with a wide range of techniques, such as silicone edge, velcro, hems and eyelets, webbing, pockets and more.
You will be joining the team at an exciting time, where we continue to push ourselves into making a big impact as we grow our footprint and deliver outstanding print, and are looking for staff to help us achieve the highest standard print and support our ambitions for the brand.
This role is a full-time position, and will also hold responsibility for helping deliver our projects by supporting our team with packaging and labelling our work correctly.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurate sewing of the required finish for our printed graphics
- Quality control of completed work.
- Finishing off client orders and help packaging up products in the correct manner
- Basic machine maintenance.
- Maintaining stock of relevant machinist tools and haberdashery supplies.
- Routine ‘housekeeping’ to maintain a clean and safe workplace.
- Application of health and safety guidelines.
- If deadlines/timelines are not going to be met, advise our Production Supervisor immediately and help create a new production timeline if necessary
- Happy to help other departments when their primary roles and responsibilities might be quiet or in hand such as our print and fabrication rooms.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience sewing sizable fabrics.
- Sufficiently fit to manage this physically demanding role.
- Attention to detail.
- Able to provide creative input, solve problems and manage change of plans.
- Reliable timekeeping and able to meet deadlines.
- Positive attitude.
- ‘Right first time’ with ‘minimal waste’ production ethic.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
