Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to support the daily operations of our childcare centre. The successful candidate will assist in overseeing staff, ensuring high standards of childcare, and fostering a safe, nurturing environment for children. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in early childhood education and management to develop their leadership skills within a professional setting.
Duties
- Assist the Nursery Manager in the organisation and supervision of day to day nursery running adhering to Nursery policies and procedures.
- Support the implementation of the curriculum that promote children’s development and learning through a Montessori and EYFS approach.
- Lead and motivate team members to ensure high standards of care and education are maintained.
- Oversee daily routines, including meal times, play, and sleep periods, ensuring they are conducted safely and efficiently.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and welfare. Fostering a deep sense of parent partnership across the board.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and nursery policies and procedures.
- Contribute to staff training programmes and facilitate and support with ongoing professional development.
- Support with administrative tasks such as record keeping, planning documentation, and reporting.
Skills
- Proven management and leadership experience within a nursery or early childhood setting.
- Strong knowledge around the EYFS and ensuring the EYFS statutory framework is embedded and followed.
- Strong understanding of childcare practices, early childhood education principles, and safeguarding procedures.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to liaise effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Experience working directly with children across various age groups.
- Organised with the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy environment.

Pay: £28,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
