Davenport Lodge Nursery School has been delivering education since 1968. We aim to provide a supportive, structured environment where babies and children, as they develop, are encouraged to recognise their individuality, efforts and achievements as happy and secure individuals in learning and social environments. Emotional, social and personal development are prioritised; in addition, our nursery school offers partnerships with parents through strong home-school links, which help to reinforce the wellbeing and development of children.
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Early Years Educators to join our Early Years team, to support with the growth in our children numbers. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment within a dynamic international school community.
We can support you with Level 3 training via our apprenticeship levy scheme.
We can offer a competitive salary with a range from £13 - £15 per hour (£25,688 - £29,640) for the right candidate depending on experience and qualifications. Our school is open all year round from 07.45am to 6pm and we operate rotas that support these hours.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver high-quality, play-based Early Years education for children aged 2–5.
- Plan and implement engaging learning experiences that support holistic development (cognitive, social, emotional, and physical).
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and wellbeing.
- Observe, assess, and track children’s progress, using evidence to inform planning and next steps.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children’s development and learning progress.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver consistent, high-quality Early Years provision.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Recognised Early Years teaching qualification.
- Experience working with children aged 2–5 in an Early Years or nursery setting.
- Understanding of child development and early years pedagogy, including knowledge of EYFS, Reggio Emilia, or equivalent frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong classroom management, organisation, and planning skills with a focus on high-quality learning outcomes.
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
Licence/Certification:
- level 2 or 3 qualification in early years? (preferred)
