Job Overview
We are working with an independent opticians in East London who are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dispensing Optician Manager to manage the day-today running of the practice. They are looking for someone commercially minded, proactive, confident working independently, and who wants to become part of the business.
The role is temp-to-perm, with the initial period being booked in as locum shifts - if successful the permanent job will be offered.
Duties
Independently managing the day-to-day running of the practice.
- Opening and closing the practice.
- Managing the appointment diary.
- Booking appointments and contacting recall patients.
- Dispensing spectacles.
- Spectacle adjustments, repairs and aftercare.
- Completing NHS paperwork accurately.
- Preparing clinics.
- Reviewing patient records after clinics to ensure they are complete and identifying where further detail may be required from the optometrist.
- Supporting clinical governance and maintaining high documentation standards.
- Undertaking local marketing and leaflet distribution.
- Generating new patients.
- Encouraging Google reviews.
- Ordering stock.
- Banking and cash reconciliation.
- Maintaining the overall presentation and cleanliness of the practice, including daily hoovering, dusting frames and shelving, cleaning equipment and ensuring the practice always looks professional.
- Wearing smart professional business attire at all times.
Requirements
Qualified Dispensing Optician on the GOC register
Proven experience as a Dispensing Optician
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Outstanding communication skills to liaise confidently with patients, staff, and suppliers.
Ability to lead a team with a professional attitude and commitment to high-quality patient care.

Pay: £32,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
