Electrical Engineer - NW10
Location: Wembley
Salary: Up to £50,000
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm
On-Call: 1 in 4
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a busy engineering team based at a large industrial rail facility in Wembley.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take the next step into a leadership position. You will oversee a team of 3 engineers, including 1 mobile engineer and 2 site-based engineers, while taking responsibility for the smooth delivery of day-to-day maintenance and engineering activities.
The role will be primarily focused on leadership, contractor management and coordination, rather than being fully hands-on. However, you will still be expected to provide technical support and get involved when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and support a team of 3 engineers.
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance across the site.
- Manage and coordinate external contractors and subcontractors.
- Support the delivery of projects, additional works and engineering improvements.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
- Liaise with clients, contractors and management teams.
- Monitor compliance, health & safety and quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team.
- Participate in a 1-in-4 on-call rota, with the majority of support provided remotely by telephone.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering or maintenance background and previous experience supervising engineers or managing contractors.
You should be a confident communicator with good organisational and problem-solving skills, and be comfortable taking responsibility for a busy site operation.
This is an industrial working environment, rather than a traditional commercial office, so the role would suit someone who enjoys a practical, operational setting.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to move away from being fully hands-on and into a Lead Engineer role with greater responsibility, leadership and career progression.
