About the role
No two days look the same on our farm estate. One morning you might be mending a fence or fixing a leaking tap in a tenant's cottage; that afternoon you could be guiding sheep escapees back into a field, loading a grain lorry, or getting stuck into a small refurbishment project on a commercial property. If you enjoy variety, like being outdoors, and want a job where practical skills are put to good use every day, this role is for you.
We're looking for a proactive, hands-on team player to join our small, friendly estate team. You'll help keep our farm buildings, houses, and workshops safe, well-maintained, and looking their best for our tenants, while lending a hand with farming tasks that change with the seasons. It's a genuinely varied role in a beautiful rural setting, ideal for someone who's happiest with a job list that shifts day to day, enjoys picking up new skills, and takes pride in doing things properly.
What you'll be doing
- General maintenance, repair, and improvement work across the estate - for instance - carpentry, basic plumbing, painting & decorating, and minor electrical tasks within your competence. A good all-round DIY'er who's keen to learn and build on their skill-set.
- Helping keep external areas in good order, including basic grounds maintenance where needed.
- Pitching in with farming tasks as they come up through the year - for example - loading grain lorries, hedge trimming (if trained), grain store cleaning, tractor work, spraying, and topping.
- Supporting planned, scheduled maintenance as directed.
- Getting involved in small projects and refurbishment works, working independently or as part of the team.
- Keeping tools, equipment, and workshop areas clean, safe, and in good working order.
- Helping maintain farm vehicles and machinery.
What we're looking for
Someone who loves the countryside, has a strong work ethic, and is ready to get stuck in. You'll be active, friendly, and proactive, happy to take the initiative on whatever the day throws at you and looking for a job that's satisfying, fun, and genuinely rewarding.
