Our client is an established and growing organisation seeking an experienced Research Operations Manager to provide operational leadership across a busy Research & Development function.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in research operations, project management or scientific programme delivery who enjoys bringing structure, improving processes and leading high-performing teams. You'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, maintaining quality standards and driving continuous improvement across the department.
The Role
As Research Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for:
- Leading the operational delivery of multiple research projects.
- Managing project timelines, resources and delivery against key milestones.
- Identifying project risks early and implementing effective solutions.
- Improving operational systems, reporting processes and project visibility.
- Supporting quality assurance, compliance and audit readiness.
- Overseeing research documentation, protocols and technical reporting.
- Building strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Coaching, mentoring and developing members of the research team.
- Driving continuous improvement across research operations and delivery.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience managing research, scientific or technical projects.
- Strong operational and project management skills.
- Experience working within a commercial research or laboratory environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong leadership and people development experience.
- Confidence communicating with clients and senior stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to improving systems and processes.
- Commercial awareness and a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.
Industry-specific experience is advantageous but not essential. We're particularly interested in individuals who understand how to deliver complex research projects while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
