MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
This position is responsible for managing and optimising the Company’s paid search activity across Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising and other relevant platforms.
The PPC Specialist will combine strong campaign-management experience with a solid understanding of tracking, product feeds and commercial performance data to continually improve results.
Working closely with Marketing, IT and Finance, the role will help increase profitable sales, improve return on advertising spend and reduce wasted budget.
SPECIFIC DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
Reporting to the Head of Buying , you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and improvement of the Company’s PPC activity:
- Managing and optimising Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising campaigns across Search, Shopping, Performance Max, Display and remarketing.
- Completing regular account audits and implementing improvements to campaign structure, bidding strategy, targeting and budget allocation.
- Monitoring and maintaining accurate conversion tracking, working with Marketing and IT colleagues to resolve any issues via Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, Google Ads and Microsoft Universal Event Tracking.
- Managing and optimising Google Merchant Center and Microsoft Merchant Center product feeds, improving titles, descriptions, categories and campaign segmentation.
- Using dashboards and reporting tools such as Looker Studio or Power BI to track campaign performance.
- Monitoring revenue, return on advertising spend, cost of sale, conversion rate, profit contribution and customer acquisition cost.
- Identifying wasted spend and reallocating budget towards stronger-performing products, categories and campaigns.
- Developing structured tests covering bidding, targeting, ad copy, landing pages and product feeds.
- Supporting landing-page testing and conversion-rate optimisation through accurate measurement and analysis.
- Keeping up to date with changes to advertising platforms, industry trends and privacy and tracking requirements.
- Managing relationships with agencies, Google, Microsoft and other relevant external partners.
- Maintaining clear documentation of account changes, tests and campaign performance.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Proven hands-on experience managing PPC campaigns, ideally within an e-commerce, retail or similarly high-performance environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Shopping and Performance Max.
- Strong working knowledge of Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 and conversion tracking principles.
- Experience managing product feeds through Google Merchant Center, Microsoft Merchant Center or a feed-management platform.
- Experience building or using reporting dashboards such as Looker/Data Studio or Power BI.
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas, data manipulation and reporting.
- Strong commercial understanding of revenue, return on advertising spend, cost of sale, margin and profitability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose performance issues.
- Ability to communicate clearly with Marketing, IT and senior stakeholders.
- A curious and improvement-focused mindset, with the confidence to challenge existing processes.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and take ownership of performance.
- Whilst the role is initially an individual contributor position, an aptitude for sharing technical knowledge and supporting the future development of the PPC function would be beneficial.
Pay: £38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
