Job Purpose:
To undertake duties under the direction and guidance of Senior staff in accordance with agreed
programmes of care and promoting independence.
Responsibilities:
1. To assist service users who need help with getting up in the morning, dressing, undressing,
Washing and using the toilet
2. To help service users with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including
Incontinence
Help in use and care of aids and personal equipment
3. To contribute to the efficient running of the home and the creation of an atmosphere conducive to
the best interest of service users.

5. To ensure all day-to-day paperwork is completed in line with the home’s policies and legal

6. After receiving the correct training to administer medication for which the home has taken
responsibility and to maintain the necessary records.
7. Participate in the development daily timetables of activities for service users which will enhance
their quality of life and encourage individual interests
8. Help to ensure that the preparation, cooking and serving of food meet the required standards
9. Help to ensure that rooms and common spaces are properly cleaned and maintained and adequately
heated.

11. Support the Registered Manager in their duties to the home under the Health & Safety act, and fire
regulations, as directed.
12. Support the Registered Manager by maintaining such logbooks and records as required by the
registering authority, CQC or the managers of the home
13. To identify own training needs, and attend both in house and external training as directed, and as
required by CQC and other training legislation
14. To inspect, launder and mend service users' clothing as required.
15. To set tables, serve meals; feed service users who need help; prepare light meals and wash up, tidy
and clear the dining areas.
16. To always comply with the home’s guidelines and policies.
17. To report to the Registered manager any significant changes in the health or circumstances of a
service user.
18. To encourage service users to remain as independent as possible.
19. To ensure that the home’s policies and procedures are always followed
20. To carry out any other tasks that may reasonably be assigned to you by Senior Staff
