- Position 1 - Temporary Post - 30 hours per week for 6 months
- Position 2 - Fixed Term Post - 18.5 hours per week until end March 2027
Job Overview:
The post holder will support the delivery of a named project alongside data collection for monitoring and evaluation to provide impact and funder reports.
The post holder will have experience of providing support to individuals from a range of backgrounds, including those who face barriers to succeed, and will have the ability to build and maintain relationships with employers, and other external stakeholders and agencies. They will have experience of supporting the development of volunteering opportunities and matching volunteers and placement opportunities.
Travel to meet with beneficiaries or stakeholders across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin is part of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Delivery
Day to day delivery of the volunteer programme for young adults (18-30 years old) particularly those who face barriers to employment, education and training which will include:
- Managing a caseload of participants on the programme to understand their strengths and development areas, creating person centred, targeted plans and setting goals to help them achieve positive outcomes, using one page profile and tailored action plans to help them achieve positive outcomes.
- Support participants on the programme to complete baseline, mid-term and endpoint self-evaluation to show progress in the development of internal assets as outlined in the project Theory of Change.
- Build positive relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders and referral partners, to identify and recruit participants to the volunteer programme.
- Build networks with local employers including voluntary and community organisations, training providers and other organisations who can support young adults with progressions and to access services.
- Work with local organisations, including voluntary and community organisations, to identify and offer meaningful volunteer placements for young adults.
- Source and/or deliver training relevant to the programme and where necessary find bespoke training to meet needs identified.
Project management support
To support the management of the employability and enterprise project, which will include:
- Collect, track and report project performance in line with project plans and budget.
- Communicate project progress and status, verbally and written, to the project team lead.
- Work with project team lead to find solutions to problems and challenges encountered, understanding and managing trade-offs and dependencies.
- Escalate delays, report risks and issues to the project team lead.
- Support report writing that measures, evaluates and communicates project impact and benefit, clearly demonstrating the impact and outcomes achieved and how project success contributes to Community Resources strategic objectives.
- Collect, document and share project learnings.
General

- Ensure where appropriate, that staff and volunteers are involved in delivering our services.
- Undertake some evening and weekend working when required.
- Undertake any other duties as determined by the line manager.
- Participate in the wider work of the VCST, Community Resource and the Shropshire Infrastructure Partnership as required.
Particular duties and responsibilities may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the role or level of responsibility entailed. The postholder may therefore be required to pursue activities other than those specified above, within the remit of the post.
