Your next Role
We have an exciting and unique opportunity to join our dynamic and ambitious STARS Team as a Family Intervention worker.
The STARS team work intensively with children (10yrs-18yrs) and their families where there is a risk of the child or young person entering care. The service will also support children currently in care, where there is an identified plan for the child to return home. The specialist team are dedicated to supporting families to stay together when it is safe and appropriate to do so.
The team is made up of passionate and dedicated multi-agency practitioners who practice in a trauma informed, restorative and relational approach, ensuring that families are fully supported to make the changes needed to care for their children and to prevent their entry into the care system.
You will need working knowledge of relevant and update to date legislation, guidance and policy context relating to the work of Children Social Care.
Recognised qualification in a relevant field (equivalent to level 4 or above), for example, family work, social care, housing, youth and community (qualified grade) or an ability to demonstrate recent, relevant and substantial experience (unqualified).
You will also need resilience, skills in risk management, the ability to manage your own time well, the ability to prioritise your work and have excellent written and communication skills.

The ability to travel throughout the Borough will be required, with full driving licence and access to a car.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
You will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
