The Role
As a Machine Operative, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plant machinery, ensuring materials are handled correctly while maintaining high operational and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating a loading shovel safely and efficiently.
- Loading, moving, and handling materials across the site.
- Carrying out daily equipment checks and reporting any defects.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure production targets are met.
- Following all company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Assisting with general site operations as required.
Essential Requirements
- Valid Loading Shovel experience (essential).
- Strong understanding of health and safety within an operational environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, hardworking, and self-motivated.
- Good communication skills.
Desirable Skills
- Telehandler experience and certification.
- Forklift Truck (FLT) experience and certification.
- Previous experience working within recycling, waste management, aggregates, biomass, or similar industrial environments.
Working Hours
- 4 on, 4 off shift pattern
- Shift details to be discussed during the interview process.
