Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable and motivated SMD / AOI Operator to join our electronics manufacturing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating SMD production and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment, ensuring PCB assemblies are manufactured and inspected to the required quality standards.
Previous experience within an electronics or PCB manufacturing environment is desirable. Experience working with Europlacer pick-and-place equipment would be particularly advantageous, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
· Operate SMD production and AOI inspection equipment.
· Set up and monitor production equipment in accordance with production requirements.
· Load and unload PCB assemblies and components correctly.
· Operate AOI equipment and review inspection results.
· Identify component placement, soldering and assembly defects.
· Carry out basic fault finding and report equipment or production issues.
· Follow production drawings, assembly instructions and work documentation.
· Complete production and quality records accurately.
· Maintain a clean, organised and ESD-controlled working environment.
· Follow company quality procedures and IPC standards where applicable.
· Work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
· Ensure production targets and quality requirements are achieved.
· Carry out routine equipment checks and basic maintenance as required.
· Follow all company Health & Safety procedures.

Desirable Experience
· Previous experience in PCB or electronics manufacturing.
· Experience operating SMD placement equipment.
· Europlacer pick-and-place experience.
· Experience operating AOI equipment.
· Knowledge of SMT/SMD manufacturing processes.
· Understanding of PCB assembly and soldering defects.
· Familiarity with IPC standards and ESD procedures.
Training
Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
This will include training on company production procedures, SMD equipment, AOI systems, quality requirements and relevant health and safety procedures.
Working Hours
Monday – Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
Friday: 7:30am – 12:30pm
Total: 39 hours per week
Salary & Benefits
