PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This role sits within the Business Services unit in the Operations Team, Digital Division, reporting to the Senior Operations Manager. The Operations Support Specialist leads the day-to-day delivery and operational management of the Business Services function, operating with a high degree of autonomy and accountability within agreed frameworks. The role is the primary owner of daily operational activity, responsible for ensuring services across infrastructure, systems, tools, finance and operational projects run effectively, securely and to agreed standards. Acting as the initial escalation point for the majority of operational issues, with accountability for resolving issues end-to-end wherever possible without onward escalation, the role applies judgement and expertise to resolve problems, manage risk and make operational decisions, escalating to the Senior Operations Manager where issues are complex, high-risk or strategic. As a trusted deputy to the Senior Operations Manager, the role is expected to operate independently across day-to-day operational delivery, enabling the Senior Operations Manager to focus on strategic oversight and portfolio leadership.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM
This is a varied, high-impact role with the autonomy to lead daily operations and improve how services work across a fast-paced digital environment. You’ll gain broad exposure to technology, governance, finance and product delivery, while supporting and developing colleagues. The role is offered as a six-month fixed-term contract, with the hope that it may become permanent.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
Lead the day-to-day Business Services operation: run daily stand-ups, manage the ticketing workload, prioritise and allocate work, monitor service performance, and resolve or escalate issues.
Deliver Monday.com build and infrastructure activity, contributing to solution design and owning implementation, including board configuration, workflows, access management and change execution.
Lead delivery and continuous improvement of internal tools and operational products, from requirements gathering and configuration through rollout, adoption, usage review and supplier coordination.
Manage day-to-day financial operations for paid media, including payment, recharge and invoicing workflows, approvals, controls, coding and timely processing across multiple cost codes.
Identify and deliver process improvements and operational projects, managing plans, risks and dependencies and embedding outcomes into business-as-usual operations.
Line manager and coach the Operations Coordinator and Operations Administrator, providing direction, delegation, quality assurance, prioritisation and escalation support.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Experience in digital media or technology-led operations, with strong technical capability and confidence working in the back end of tools and platforms.
Demonstrable experience leading day-to-day service delivery, including prioritising work, delegating, making operational decisions and acting as an escalation point.
Experience owning and improving operational processes, controls and governance, and delivering projects through implementation and transition into business as usual.
Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with the judgement to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Experience managing financial or payment processes, such as invoices, recharges, approvals, payment routes or cost-code workflows.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
Experience or knowledge of social media platform back ends.
Experience building workflows, boards and automations in monday.com or a similar platform.
Experience working with Information Security, Data Protection, Content Protection, AI or other governance teams.
