An opportunity has arisen for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our busy Maintenance department at Rossall School.
Job Purpose
To be part of a small multi-skilled team. To carry out building maintenance and refurbishment tasks.
Main Responsibilities
- To carry out tasks as directed by the Head of Site Maintenance and Safety
- Making proper reference to drawings, plans, sketches, work tickets, vet sheets etc for information relating to dimensions and type of materials and work to be carried out
- Undertaking various tasks relating to general maintenance using accepted trade practices
- Using appropriate mechanical plant and tools required for safe completion of tasks
- Providing necessary protection, such as dustsheets, whilst undertaking jobs and cleaning up at end of task
- Completing all necessary paperwork such as timesheets, job tickets etc and submitting them in a timely manner
- Taking all steps necessary to ensure their own safety and the safety of others in carrying out work
- Promoting best practice in meeting the requirements of Health and Safety legislation and complying with other relevant statutory legislation
- Undertaking training to acquire and maintain skill levels in keeping with the requirements of the job
- To assist with other duties which may reasonably be requested by the Head of Site Maintenance and Safety
This is not an exhaustive list and will vary as the School’s requirements change.
The successful candidate will ideally be a time served tradesperson, with experience and knowledge of building and joinery. Experience of working in a busy school environment would be an advantage.
The position is full-time, all year round. The normal hours of work are 39 per week, Monday to Friday.
The salary is £27,500 per annum with 25 days holiday plus the normal 8 bank holidays.
