Fabricator MIG Welder
Location: Wednesbury
Hourly Rate: £13.00 - £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: 39 hours per week
Working Hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 7:00am -4:00pm (15-minute + 30-minute break)
- Friday: 7:00am - 12:00pm

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Fabricator / MIG Welder who will be reporting directly to the Head Foreman. As a Welder at Simon and Dean Limited, you will be responsible for producing high-quality welded components and assemblies for a range of steel handling and storage products. You will work from engineering drawings and specifications to fabricate structural assemblies that meet the company’s quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG welding on mild steel and other ferrous metals to fabricate product components such as pallets, trolleys, racks, frames, cages, and bespoke fabricated items.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, fabrication drawings, jigs, and written instructions to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Use fabrication tools such as cutting equipment, grinders, clamps, presses, and measuring instruments.
- Work efficiently in a production environment to meet scheduled output and quality targets.
- Working collaboratively with other fabricators, welders, and production staff
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 years’ MIG welding experience (essential)
- Proven fabrication experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Experience with interpreting drawings and cutting lists
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to meeting production deadlines
- Forklift licence (advantageous, but not required)
