Accounts Assistant required for local family firm with continual growth and expansion.
Accounts experience preferred.
The position is full time, Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm and is based at Layerthorpe, York.
We are looking for an applicant with accounts experience. The right person must have good communication skills and be a team player with the ability to adapt, multitask and can prioritise their own workload. You must have good attention to detail and work with accuracy.
A reliable person with a positive and friendly disposition is a must.

The work will include, but not be limited to, the below tasks:
Sales Ledger
- Processing cash sales.
- Processing account payments.
- General Sales Ledger enquiries and maintenance.
- Answering calls and taking customer payments.
- Monitoring the aged Debtors and chasing payments.
- Liaising with customers and building rapport to ensure timely payments.
- Opening new customer accounts and using Experian and trade references to give the correct credit terms.
Purchase Ledger
- Checking supplier invoices against purchase orders and goods received notes.
- Reconciling statements.
- Liaising with Suppliers to ensure swift and continual delivery of goods.
Other duties may include but not be limited to:
- Petty Cash processing and reconciling.
- Stationery inventory and ordering.
- Monitoring and actioning of various accounts inboxes.
- You may be asked to undertake other reasonable duties which may be assigned from management from time to time.
