Nursery Cleaner (Key Holder) – Immediate Start
Location: Little Leaf Nursery
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm (10 hours per week)
Contract: Permanent, 51 weeks per year
Pay: £12.71 per hour

Little Leaf Nursery is committed to providing a safe, clean, and nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and thrive. We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and trustworthy Nursery Cleaner who takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high cleaning standards.
As this role involves working after the nursery closes, the successful applicant will be a key holder responsible for securely locking the premises at the end of each shift.
The Role
The successful candidate will ensure the nursery is cleaned to the highest standards each evening, creating a safe and hygienic environment for our children and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily cleaning of all nursery rooms, offices and communal areas.
- Clean and disinfect toilets, changing areas and handwashing facilities.
- Vacuum, sweep and mop all floors.
- Dust and wipe all surfaces, shelves, furniture and windowsills.
- Clean kitchen areas in accordance with hygiene standards.
- Empty bins and replace bin liners.
- Sanitise high-touch surfaces including door handles, light switches and handrails.
- Ensure toys, equipment and resources are cleaned as instructed.
- Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies where required.
- Follow the nursery cleaning schedule and complete all assigned tasks.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages or health and safety concerns.
- Lock and secure the nursery premises each evening as the designated key holder.
- Ensure all alarms, windows and doors are secured before leaving.
Essential Requirements
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
- Able to work independently without supervision.

- Has excellent attention to detail.
- Takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high cleaning standards.
- Physically able to carry out cleaning duties.
- Able to follow instructions, policies and procedures.
- Committed to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Has good communication skills.
- Has the right to work in the UK.
Desirable Experience
Although not essential, preference will be given to applicants who have:
- Previous experience cleaning a nursery, school, childcare setting or similar environment.
- Experience using professional cleaning equipment and products.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and hygiene standards.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
Applicants without a DBS are still encouraged to apply, as one can be obtained if successful.
