Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Support senior chefs in food production, ensuring quality and presentation meet company specifications
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all kitchen activities
- Organise and manage food stock levels, ensuring ingredients are fresh and properly stored
- Supervise junior kitchen staff when required, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations
- Contribute to menu development ideas and participate in the creation of new dishes
- Ensure cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment at all times
- Assist in serving food efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining professionalism
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Leadership qualities with previous supervising or team management experience preferred
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and senior staff
- Passion for culinary arts and a keen interest in developing professional skills in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food production techniques and restaurant service procedures
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and maintain high standards of quality
