About the Role
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will provide compassionate, high-quality and person-centred care and support to residents living within the Home.
You will play an important role in supporting residents with their daily living activities, wellbeing, independence and quality of life while helping create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where individuals feel valued, respected and supported.
Working closely with nursing, care and wider multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to positive resident experiences and the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Care & Wellbeing
· Provide compassionate, high-quality and person-centred care tailored to individual resident needs and preferences.
· Support residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration and daily living activities.
· Promote dignity, independence, choice and wellbeing at all times.
· Observe and report changes in resident wellbeing appropriately.
Meaningful Engagement & Daily Living Support
· Support residents to participate in meaningful activities, social engagement and positive daily experiences.
· Encourage confidence, independence and social connection.
· Assist residents to maintain routines, preferences and individual interests.
· Contribute to a welcoming and inclusive Home environment.
Teamwork & Communication
· Work collaboratively with nursing, care, activities, catering, housekeeping and wider teams.
· Participate positively in handovers, meetings and communication processes.
· Communicate professionally and compassionately with residents, families and visitors.
· Escalate concerns, incidents or safeguarding matters appropriately.
Safety, Governance & Professional Standards
· Deliver care in accordance with care plans, risk assessments and organisational policies.
· Maintain accurate records and documentation.
· Follow safeguarding, infection prevention, health and safety and moving and handling procedures.
· Support a culture of accountability, professionalism and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for individuals who are:
· Experienced care professionals with a minimum of two years' experience within a regulated care, healthcare or residential environment
· Compassionate, caring and respectful
· Passionate about supporting others and making a positive difference
· Confident supporting colleagues and promoting high standards of care
· Comfortable contributing to shift coordination and team support activities
· Committed to dignity, wellbeing and person-centred care
Desirable Experience
· Experience supporting individuals living with dementia, mental health conditions or complex care needs
· Experience supporting mentoring, induction or development of colleagues
· Experience using electronic care planning or digital documentation systems
