About the Role: Birmingham is known for its world-class architectural heritage and bold, modern spaces, and at MobiPlus Furniture & Interiors UK, we apply that same standard to every home and workplace we design. We build luxury residential and commercial environments that feel tailored, functional, and striking. We believe that functional spaces don't have to be uninspired. We are looking for an Interior Designer who can take ownership of our aesthetic direction and spatial strategy. You aren't just placing furniture; you are defining the entire living experience. You will collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and project managers, bridging the gap between complex spatial layouts and elegant, livable interiors. You are the advocate for brilliant design in a room full of builders and suppliers.
Why Work With Us?
- The Environment: Our showroom and studio are located in the heart of Birmingham. We value a workspace that inspires creativity—think bright open layouts, premium design sample libraries, and a team that loves what they do.
- Design Respect: We don't need you to convince us that good design matters. We know it does. You will have a direct voice in shaping our client projects from Day 1.
- Modern Tools: We work with modern 2D/3D CAD software and rendering tools. Our installation team speaks the language of precision, making developer and trade handoffs seamless.
- Growth: You will have access to ongoing trade events, supplier workshops, and material exhibitions to keep your knowledge of global interior trends sharp.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spatial Strategy Ownership: Maintain and evolve our design ethos across residential and commercial projects. Ensure visual consistency and high standards across all client touchpoints.
- End-to-End Design: Lead the project lifecycle from initial spatial discovery and concept mood boards to high-fidelity 3D renderings, material specification, and final installation handoff.
- Client Collaboration: Present design concepts directly to residential and commercial clients. Conduct walkthroughs and refine layouts based on real functional requirements.
- Site Validation: Don't just guess measurements on paper. Conduct site visits, assess architectural constraints, and validate layouts before procurement begins.
- Stakeholder Management: Present your design rationale to clients, architects, and trade contractors. You can explain why a specific layout, fabric, or finish belongs there, not just that it looks good.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: 3+ years in Interior Design, Architectural Interior Planning, or Spatial Design across residential or commercial sectors.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio is non-negotiable. We want to see real-world case studies, spatial floor plans, and mood boards—not just mood photos. Show us the space, the concept, and the final built environment.
- Tooling: You are proficient in industry-standard software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or 2020 Design, plus rendering plugins).
- Skills: Strong understanding of furniture specification, materials, lighting design, and construction principles.
- Mindset: You are pragmatic. You know when to push for bespoke, high-end details and when to design efficiently to meet a budget and deadline.
