About the Role
Following a recent organisational restructure, the Security Systems department requires a dedicated, experienced manager to take full operational ownership of the team. This is an exciting opportunity to join Hybrid Electrical Solutions at a time of sustained growth. The Security Systems Manager will provide hands-on operational leadership, protect and grow existing revenue streams, ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards, and give the engineering team consistent direction and a clear escalation route.
The main aspect of the work Hybrid Electrical Solutions carry out is related to road tunnel infrastructure, working on up to 14 road tunnels in and around London and the South of England. Including security and access projects on commercial and industrial sites.
Key Responsibilities
– Coordinate the activities of engineers to ensure projects and maintenance activities meet contractual, technical, and safety requirements.
– Develop and implement departmental objectives aligned with the company's strategic growth plans.
– Manage installation and commissioning works across multiple sites in collaboration with the Project Manager.
– Conduct regular staff reviews, identify training needs, and promote professional development across the team.
– Maintain strong client relationships and attend client review meetings to ensure high satisfaction and contract retention.
– Uphold quality standards and ensure full compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards, including BS EN and NSI requirements.
– Support estimating, procurement, and project cost management to protect and improve departmental margins.
– Champion health & safety culture, conducting site audits and toolbox talks on a regular basis.
– Drive innovation across security systems including cloud-based integrations and AI-powered analytics platforms.
– Ensure accurate KPI reporting and documentation through digital management systems, with monthly reporting to senior management.
Required Qualifications & Experience
– Minimum 5 years' experience leading technical teams within the security systems or electrical sector.
– In-depth knowledge of IP-based CCTV, access control, and intruder detection systems.
– Manufacturer training and certifications (e.g. Hikvision, Paxton, Mirasys, Bosch, Hanwha, Honeywell, Texecom).
– Valid ECS Card or SSSTS / SMSTS certification.
– Demonstrated experience in budget control, contract management, and tender delivery.
– Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams across installation, maintenance, and project delivery environments.
What Success Looks Like
– All active projects and maintenance independently managed within 90 days, with no escalations required to the line manager for day-to-day operational issues.
– 100% of scheduled maintenance and remedial visits delivered on time within 60 days, with KPI reporting in place and presented monthly.
– All team members have had a formal 1:1 or performance review within 60 days, with development plans in place for key personnel.
– Full H&S compliance achieved within 90 days — all outstanding audit actions closed, toolbox talk schedule in place, and NSI / BS EN compliance confirmed.
– Departmental revenue protected — no loss of existing clients within the first 6 months attributable to management gaps, and at least one new project opportunity quoted.
Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
