An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Programme Lead for the BSc in Oral Health Science course, based within Glasgow Dental Hospital and School. This post will have an integral role in the School of Dental Hygiene Therapy by leading and developing the dental hygienist/therapist work stream within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in conjunction with Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) and Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSDS) - formerly known as NES.
This work will contribute to the delivery of ministerial commitments to increasing training of Dental Therapists. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the education and training meets the General Dental Council (GDC) and University quality assurance standards. The post will have strategic leadership function in relation to this national initiative covering the NHS Scotland workforce in dentistry and contribute to long term planning in this area.
