Join Our Friendly Rural Practice
We are looking for a caring, motivated, and reliable Health Care Assistant to join our welcoming team at our rural GP practice. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our patients by providing high-quality, compassionate care within a close-knit community.
Working alongside GPs, nurses, and administrative staff, you will support the delivery of a wide range of clinical services while helping to ensure patients receive safe, effective, and person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake routine clinical observations, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation, height, weight, and BMI.
- Perform venepuncture, ECGs, and simple wound care (subject to competency).
- Carry out NHS Health Checks and support long-term condition monitoring.
- Prepare patients for consultations and assist clinicians during procedures where appropriate.
- Carry out new patient health checks and lifestyle assessments.
- Perform urinalysis and other point-of-care testing.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records using the clinical system.
- Clean, stock, and maintain clinical rooms and equipment.
- Participate in infection prevention and control procedures.
- Promote health and wellbeing through patient education and signposting to appropriate services.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide excellent patient care.
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a recognised Health Care Assistant qualification or have equivalent experience.
- Have previous experience working in primary care, general practice, or another healthcare setting (preferred but not essential).
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be compassionate, organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Have a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and delivering high standards of care.
- Be willing to undertake further training and professional development.

Pay: £13.00-£15.74 per hour
