Job Overview
We are a long established family business and are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Vehicle Technician to join our professional team. MOT qualification would be ideal but not essential .The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle service and inspections, performing repairs, and ensuring all vehicles meet safety and environmental standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive technology to develop their skills within a reputable workshop environment. The position is fully paid and requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
We do not open weekends .
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre replacements, brake inspections,servicing,clutches and exhausts etc .
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs and servicing
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and environmental policies
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and parts used
- Assist in vehicle diagnostics, troubleshooting issues, and providing recommendations for repairs
- Support the team in maintaining a clean, organised workshop environment
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician or similar role is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components
- Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment
- Valid UK driving licence is essential; a clean driving record is desirable
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to delivering high-quality service in a timely manner
- Relevant qualifications or certifications such as IMI or ATA accreditation are advantageous

Pay: £33,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
