Responsibilities
- Support hardware and software for internal end users in our UK office and remotely
- Remotely support international colleagues
- Procure and set up new computers, tablets, and mobile devices via imaging or manual method
- Troubleshoot printers and other peripherals, including desk phones and site Wi-Fi
- Work with a corporate ticketing system for issue resolution and escalation
- Develop, configure, and deploy enterprise desktop and laptop images
- Install, upgrade, support, and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows 11, Apple macOS, Microsoft Office, and other authorised applications
- Perform preventative maintenance on computers, printers, and other authorised peripheral equipment
- Set up, update, and track all IT assets in the UK, including the secure erasure of data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and the environmentally responsible recycling of end-of-life assets in accordance with the WEEE Regulations 2013
- Manage site CCTV software and access control systems in accordance with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the ICO's guidance on the use of CCTV
- Support employee desk setups and, where required, office desk moves
- Work on special projects as required
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably assigned
Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in a similar desktop support role (typically equivalent to 3–5 years), or comparable skills and knowledge gained through other routes
- Understanding of Active Directory, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365
- Ability to determine whether an issue is client-side or server-side, and to follow proper troubleshooting and escalation steps
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work quickly and independently with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Excellent customer service skills, with professional phone and email etiquette
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to ask for help when necessary
- A positive and proactive attitude
- This role involves manual handling tasks, including moving equipment weighing up to 22.5 kg, and frequent bending or kneeling while operating equipment. Reasonable adjustments will be considered for candidates who may require them, in line with the Equality Act 2010
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent qualifying experience will also be considered
