We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely across designated routes, ensuring timely deliveries. Duties
- Operate lorries and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods to various locations
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times and fuel efficiency
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Secure cargo properly, ensuring safe transit of goods
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with legal requirements
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit
- Adhere strictly to all road safety laws, company policies, and health & safety regulations during operations
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with double deck trailers
- Strong understanding of driving regulations and safety standards within the UK
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with securing cargo on double decks
- Good organisational skills for route planning and documentation management
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently under minimal supervision
- Previous delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with logistics operations and customer service expectations
