Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair a wide range of automotive issues using schematics and technical manuals.root cause analysis
- Perform complex mechanical repairs, including engine, transmission, suspension, and electrical system work.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out repairs efficiently and accurately.
- problem solving through diagnostic softwares including-OEM VACTS AND CORVUS, CANALYSER,snapshot toolfor fault finding and software updates
- Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, brake inspections, tyre rotations, and fluid replacements.
- Assist with assembly and disassembly of vehicle components during repairs or upgrades.
- Repair or replace faulty equipment, including welding or other fabrication tasks as required.
- Maintain detailed records of all work performed and communicate findings clearly to customers.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians when necessary.
- Assist with the organisation of workshop tools and equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Automotive Technician with recognised qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- Extensive knowledge of automotive systems, schematics, and diagnostic procedures.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic machinery.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform complex repairs accurately.
- Experience in vehicle assembly, maintenance programmes, and equipment repair.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work on vehicles in various positions for extended periods.
- Valid UK driving licence is essential; previous experience working in a fast-paced workshop environment is preferred.
