We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Groundworker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in landscape maintenance and groundskeeping, with hands-on experience in using both power and hand tools. This role involves a variety of tasks related to building and maintaining outdoor spaces, ensuring they are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Responsibilities
- Carry out landscape maintenance tasks, including planting, weeding, and pruning.
- Use power tools and hand tools effectively for various gardening and landscaping projects.
- Dig trenches for irrigation systems and other installations as required.
- Maintain gardens by irrigating plants and ensuring they receive adequate care.
- Assist in building structures such as fences, pathways, and garden beds.
- Perform regular groundskeeping duties to keep outdoor areas tidy and well-maintained.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and to a high standard.
- Report any issues or concerns regarding equipment or site conditions to the supervisor.
Requirements
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or groundskeeping is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate power tools safely.
- Ability to dig, irrigate, and maintain various types of gardens effectively.
- Familiarity with hand tools commonly used in gardening and landscaping tasks.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills.
- Good physical fitness as the role involves manual labour and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- A valid driving licence is advantageous but not essential.
