Greenside Garage is looking for a motivated and reliable Service Advisor & Workshop Support Assistant to join our team.
This is primarily a Service Advisor and Workshop Support role, acting as a key link between our customers, workshop technicians, suppliers and management team. The successful candidate will help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the workshop while providing excellent customer service.
This is a varied position where no two days are the same. You'll be responsible for handling customer enquiries, organising vehicle bookings, ordering parts, managing paperwork and supporting the overall operation of the business.
Whilst the role is predominantly workshop-based, you will also work every other Saturday at our AutoPoint York dealership, providing an opportunity to gain experience on the retail side of the motor trade and broaden your skillset.
Key Responsibilities
- Booking vehicles into the workshop and managing job schedules
- Answering telephone enquiries and assisting customers
- Liaising with customers regarding repairs, maintenance and MOT work
- Producing invoices, receipts and workshop paperwork
- Ordering vehicle parts and managing supplier relationships
- Taking vehicles to MOT appointments when required
- Updating customer records and workshop systems
- Coordinating vehicle collections and deliveries
- Assisting with the day-to-day organisation of the workshop
- General administration and operational support duties
What We're Looking For
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities
- Professional and friendly manner
- Full UK driving licence
- Basic mechanical knowledge or understanding of vehicles preferred
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Good attention to detail
- Previous motor trade experience would be advantageous but is not essential

Working every other Saturday at AutoPoint York will provide exposure to the retail side of the motor trade. For those interested in vehicle sales, there may be opportunities to progress into a full-time sales role as the business continues to grow.
Workshop & Operations Pathway
For candidates who prefer the operational side of the business, there will be opportunities to take on increased responsibility within workshop administration, customer service, supplier management and overall business operations.
