Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Support Worker to join our team for 4 months as cover for an existing member of staff who is undergoing surgery. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate support to individuals in our dementia centre, Montrose Connections, helping them achieve greater independence and wellbeing. Your enthusiasm and dedication will make a real difference in people's lives by offering guidance, encouragement, and practical assistance.
Duties
- Supporting our members throughout the day.
- Planning and leading meaningful, person-centred activities.
- Preparing and serving refreshments and assisting with light kitchen duties.
- Escorting members to and from the meeting centre on our minibus alongside our volunteer driver.
- Helping maintain a welcoming, safe and homely environment through everyday housekeeping tasks.
- Working closely with colleagues, volunteers and families to ensure every member has the best possible experience.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and activities
- Promote a safe and welcoming environment for all service users
Person requirements
- Experience working with vulnerable adults is highly desirable
- Strong communications skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- The ability to quickly build trusting relationships
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to help others
- Relevant qualifications or training in social care or related fields are a plus
