Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Stores Person to join our team in Ellesmere Port reporting to the site manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing inventory efficiently and accurately, handling materials, and supporting operations and production to ensure smooth and efficient supply chain processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with relevant experience and knowledge to contribute to a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage stock levels through accurate stocking and picking of products and prepare orders for dispatch.
- Receive, unload and check incoming deliveries against purchase orders.
- Ensure the safe handling of materials, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and report any issues.
- Conduct regular stock counts and assist with stocktaking.
- Assist in maintaining organised storage areas and ensuring materials are stored correctly.
- Conduct regular stock checks and report discrepancies or damages.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet trucks (if licensed).
- Ensure cleanliness and safety of the storage area.
- Coordinate with supervisors, suppliers, and delivery personnel.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse management or similar roles with warehousing responsibilities.
- Basic computer skills and experience working with scanners etc.
- Proficiency and licenced in operating forklifts ( Desirable)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in stock control and documentation.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Experience in shipping & receiving, picking & packing processes.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
