Gleddoch, one of the most prestigious hotel, golf and spa resorts located in Renfrewshire is recruiting Spa & Leisure Assistant Manager to join our existing team. This position is a maternity cover position with a start date early October.
Gleddoch is a 75-bedroom hotel, golf course, luxurious spa with food and beverage outlets.

As our Spa & Leisure Assistant Manager you will support in the effective day-to-day management of the spa, leisure and associated facilities. The role is responsible for supporting the team, maintaining excellent customer service and operational standards, ensuring health and safety compliance, and contributing to the achievement of membership, treatment, retail, and leisure revenue targets.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist with the daily operation of the spa, and leisure facilities, and reception areas.
· Lead and motivate the spa and leisure team to deliver consistently high standards of customer service.
· Ensure all guests and members receive a welcoming, professional, and personalised experience.
· Monitor facility standards, cleanliness, presentation, equipment, and maintenance requirements.
· Ensure all health, safety, hygiene, and operational procedures are followed at all times.
· Support the management of staff rotas, attendance, holidays, and daily staffing levels.
· Assist with recruitment, induction, training, coaching, and performance management of team members.
· Conduct regular team briefings and ensure effective communication across the department.
· Monitor treatment and leisure bookings, memberships, appointments, and customer enquiries.
· Deal professionally with customer feedback, complaints, and service recovery.
· Promote treatments, spa packages, memberships, classes, facilities, and retail products to maximise revenue opportunities.
· Support the team in achieving sales, membership, treatment, retail, and customer satisfaction targets.
· Monitor daily sales, bookings, membership activity, and departmental performance.
· Assist with stock control, ordering, inventory checks, and management of spa and leisure supplies.
· Work closely with maintenance and other hotel departments to ensure facilities remain fully operational and presented to a high standard.
· Ensure pool and leisure safety procedures are consistently maintained, including appropriate checks and records.
· Ensure relevant legislation, company policies, risk assessments, and operating procedures are adhered to.
· Assist with audits, inspections, reporting, and departmental administration.
· Support the planning and delivery of promotions, events, seasonal activities, and member initiatives.
· Encourage member engagement and retention through excellent service and regular communication.
· Build strong relationships with members, guests, colleagues, and external partners.
· Maintain a visible management presence across the spa and leisure areas.
· Lead by example, ensuring the highest standards of professionalism, teamwork, and customer care.
Skills & Experience
· Previous experience within a spa, health club, leisure, hospitality, or hotel environment.
· Previous supervisory or management experience, ideally within a spa or leisure setting.
· Strong knowledge of customer service and leisure operations.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
· Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
· Commercial awareness with experience of achieving sales or revenue targets.
· Good understanding of health, safety, hygiene, and risk management within a leisure environment.
· Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations.
· Good IT, administration, and reporting skills.
· Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
