Responsibilities
- Strong WordPress development experience
- Experience creating custom WordPress block themes
- Good understanding of Full Site Editing (FSE) and the native WordPress block editor
- Experience with e-commerce sites including WooCommerce and Shopify
- Ability to build websites without relying on third-party page builders
- Strong HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills
- A good eye for front-end design and attention to detail when implementing supplied designs
- Good understanding of responsive website development
- Experience troubleshooting WordPress errors, plugin/theme conflicts and general website issues
- Good understanding of web hosting, DNS, domains, SSL and server configuration
- Comfortable working with PHP and MySQL
- Experience using SSH and command-line tools
- Familiarity with WP-CLI
- Comfortable using browser developer tools for debugging
- An understanding of website performance, security and general WordPress best practice
- Comfortable using AI tools as part of development, troubleshooting and day-to-day workflows
- Able to investigate unfamiliar technical problems independently and work through them logically
