Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Workshop Labourer to join our team. This is a hands-on role, supporting the daily operations within our workshop environment, supporting technicians, primarily assisting with manual handling, cleaning parts and organisation of materials and equipment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, physically capable, and eager to develop their skills.
Hours are Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm with two paid 15 minute breaks and 1 hour lunch break.
Responsibilities
- Material handling - Load, unload and transport raw materials, tools and finished goods around the Works.
- Site maintenance - Sweep, clean and remove waste to maintain HSE standards.
- Support Technicians - Assist skilled worker by passing tools, holding materials and complete preparatory tasks. Cleaning component parts using parts specialist cleaning tanks, hand/power tools and jet washer.
- Load and unload materials or products safely and efficiently.
- Follow safety procedures at all times to maintain a secure working environment.
- Support team members with various tasks as required to ensure smooth workflow.
Requirements
- Basic mechanical knowledge or interest in engineering processes is desirable.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to undertake physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and adhere to health and safety regulations, including use of PPE.
Pay: £13.00 per hour
