Duties
- Assist children and young people with daily activities, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
- Support behavioural management strategies to promote positive interactions and development
- Engage in mentoring activities, encouraging confidence, independence, and social skills
- Facilitate educational and recreational activities tailored to individual needs
- Work closely with families, carers, and other professionals to develop personalised support plans
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement of support strategies
- Maintain accurate records of activities and observations in accordance with organisational policies
Skills
- Experience or interest in working with children, young people and adult is highly desirable
- Strong mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding in challenging situations
- Teaching abilities that can adapt to diverse learning needs
- Organised approach to managing multiple responsibilities effectively
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team .
- Experience with PEG feeding is an advantage.
