About Us
We are a landmark commercial office building in Cheltenham, home to a range of business tenants. The on-site café and front of house area are the first point of contact for tenants, visitors, and building staff.
The Role
Following a refresh of our café offering, we are looking for a friendly, welcoming Barista / Front of House Host to join the team. This is a varied, customer-facing role at the heart of the building — you'll be preparing great coffee, selling our range of pre-packed food and drink, and welcoming visitors and checking people into the building, so you'll be one of the first faces tenants and visitors see each day. No hot food preparation is involved in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a full range of hot and cold drinks to a consistently high standard
- Deliver excellent, friendly customer service to tenants, visitors, and colleagues
- Maintain a clean, well-presented café area in line with food hygiene and health & safety standards
- Manage stock levels, rotate supplies, and place orders as needed
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately using the till system
- Sell and display our range of pre-packed food and drink items (no hot food preparation involved)
- Welcome and check in visitors and contractors arriving at the building, following sign-in and security procedures
- Act as a friendly first point of contact at front of house, directing visitors and answering general queries
- Support the wider building team with occasional light front of house/reception cover as needed
- Build positive relationships with regular tenants and building visitors
- Follow all food safety, allergen, and hygiene procedures
About You
- Barista trained, or willing to train, with a genuine interest in coffee
- Some knowledge of coffee preparation and machine operation, or keen to learn
- Friendly, personable manner with excellent customer service skills
- Comfortable being a visible, welcoming presence at front of house as well as behind the counter
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently during quieter periods
- Basic food hygiene certificate desirable (training can be provided)
- Comfortable working in a small, close-knit team
