Site Engineer – Structures / QA
Location: Gatwick Airport – Pier 3
Rate: £400–£430 per day CIS/LTD
Shift: 07:30–17:00
Shift Pattern: 12 days on / 2 days off
Duration: 10–12 weeks, with potential for further work
Start Date: ASAP
PROSITEUK are currently looking for an experienced Site Engineer to work on a major structures project at Gatwick Airport, Pier 3.
The successful Site Engineer will primarily be responsible for QA and quality control, with a particular focus on structural works and ongoing welding operations involving jacking plates.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and maintaining project QA requirements and documentation
- Carrying out quality inspections and ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications
- Monitoring structural works and associated installation activities
- Monitoring welding works to jacking plates, including relevant site QA checks
- Completing inspection and test plans (ITPs), check sheets and quality records
- Working closely with the site team, subcontractors and engineers to ensure quality standards are maintained
- Identifying and reporting any quality issues or non-conformances
- Ensuring works are completed in line with project specifications and approved methodologies
Requirements
- Previous Site Engineering experience within structures
- Strong understanding of site-based QA and quality control
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Own laptop for completing QA documentation and project records
- Bridge, pier or bearing experience would be highly beneficial
- Previous experience monitoring or working alongside welding/steelwork operations would be advantageous
Additional Information
- 07:30–17:00 working hours
- 12 days on / 2 days off shift pattern
- Night shifts may be required towards the latter stages of the project
- Initial 10–12 week placement
- Potential for further work following completion
- £400–£430 per day, depending on experience
