We have a brilliant opportunity to join our fantastic Swindon Team. We are the multi skilled hands-on practical support that helps our colleagues deliver services to our customers.
We work with customers with a range of needs, including mental health needs, learning disabilities, young families and ex-offenders across a mix of properties and grounds. As our handy person you’ll spend much of your time working across Swindon.
Typical day
- Perform minor or emergency repairs, decorating and cleaning in properties and communal areas.
- Handle tasks like hanging curtain poles, moving furniture, touching up paint, changing washers, unblocking sinks, mowing lawns and clearing grounds.
- Carry out regular fire safety checks.
- Work closely with colleagues, contractors and customers
- Liaise with Customer Service Centre and contractors to report and follow up on repairs outside your remit.

You bring
- A team player with a can-do attitude and enthusiasm.
- General maintenance know-how, including a bit of carpentry, basic plumbing and confidence with a paintbrush or broom.
- Comfortable working and communicating with people from all walks of life.
- Ability to use technology for online learning, emails etc.
- To get from A to B, you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!

Job details
• Permanent, part time (30 hpw) Monday to Friday (can be discussed at interview).
• You’ll be based at Swindon and travel around the properties in this area.
• Occasionally you’ll head outside the patch for all hands on deck situations.
• You’ll need a Standard DBS check done and we pay for that.
