Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes or within their own homes, assisting with daily activities and promoting independence. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support with mobility and transfer activities, ensuring safety at all times
- Help clients with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Follow individualised care plans to meet specific needs and preferences
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in client condition
- Encourage social interaction and participation in activities to promote wellbeing
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and the wider care team
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including infection control procedures
- Assist with light domestic duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
Skills
- Driving licence is needed for home care roles requiring travel between clients’ locations
- Experience working within a care home or providing home care is advantageous
- Ability to understand and follow detailed care plans accurately
- Proficiency in using IT systems for documentation and communication purposes
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Compassionate nature with strong interpersonal skills to build trust with clients
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
