Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen tools efficiently and thoroughly
- Assist with food preparation tasks under supervision, such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients
- Support the storage of supplies by organizing stock rooms and fridge/freezer areas according to safety standards
- Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed to promote sustainability
- Help with basic cooking tasks when required, supporting chefs during busy service times
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed diligently to maintain a safe working environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key
- Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks with energy and efficiency
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and safety standards
